  5. I'm fairly new to crochet and have never seen the term "dcl". Can someone please tell me what that means? Thank you in advance.

    1. It's just like a double crochet but before you take the loops off the hook you put your yarn over the hook and you pull it through all 3 of the loops and there you go your done!

  7. I love this pattern. I have made a set of 4 coasters already. I just wanted to point out that the diagram and the written directions are slightly different.

    1. The instructions say 12 dc into the ring after the chain 2 (making a total of 13), whereas the diagram only shows 11 dc with a chain 2 (making a total of 12). Is that what you mean? Because I'm confused by this part too.

  14. Love this pattern and your blog! Took some left over tshirt yarn and made the heart coaster into a screen cleaner, turned out great and works great on phone and tablet screens! Thinking of making more for stocking stuffers. Thanks so much Barb in Temple, Texas USA

  16. I'm attempting to do some hearts for Portland. #hearts PDX. The diagram shows one less stitch around each row than in the written instructions. (e.g., 12 dc in instructions vs 11 dc in diagram. Does it matter which one we follow? (I'm new to crocheting). Thanks.
